What is iS Clinical Retinol+ Emulsion 0.3?

iS Clinical Retinol+ Emulsion 0.3 is an evening emulsion built on retinol of botanical origin. iS Clinical describes it as a proprietary blend of bakuchiol, botanical boosters, antioxidants and Extremozymes, and says it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles. The brand puts skin tone and texture in the same sentence.

What the 0.3 in the name means

The 0.3 is a product name, not a published strength. iS Clinical prints no percentage for the retinol anywhere on its page for this product, and none for the bakuchiol either. Retinol sits at position 17 of the ingredient list and bakuchiol at 14, which tells you the order they appear in and nothing about the concentration. Anyone comparing retinol strengths should know that before buying.

What iS Clinical publishes

What iS Clinical does publish is a benefit list. It says the emulsion reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminishes the appearance of uneven skin tones, textures and blemishes, protects from environmental and oxidative stressors with Extremozyme technology, strengthens and hydrates the skin, and increases firmness and elasticity. That is the whole of it. No study, no figures, no duration.

Who it suits

On blemishes, iS Clinical names them in its own benefit list, which is why this sits in our picks for blemish-prone skin. Our suggestion on congestion-prone skin is to ease into it rather than start nightly, since the brand publishes no frequency guidance we were able to read.
